アンスネスにとってSONY移籍第1弾、また初のベートーヴェン録音となった前作、第1＆3番のリリースは2012年夏。ずいぶん間が空いていたので心配していましたが、これは「双子の赤ちゃんが生まれたから」だそうです（『音楽の友』2014年3月号インタビュー）。ライヴ録音だった前作とは違い、今回は教会でのセッション録音。ライヴ感はなくなりましたが、「スポーティさ」は健在。弾き振りによるピアノとオケの一体感もよく保たれています。あとは第5番『皇帝』と合唱幻想曲を組み合わせた第3弾を待つのみです!

アンスネスのベートーベン第二弾ですが相変わらず透明感のある素晴らしい音色ですね。期待を裏切りません。彼の４月９日の新宿オペラシテイのライブを拝見しましたが本当に素晴らしい演奏でした。特にピアノソナタ第２３番熱情は圧巻でした！来年はMCOを伴い来日との事！今から楽しみです
