極めてエレガントな幻想。もうこれ以上はエレガントさを詰められないと言うほどまで突き詰められているように思う。第4楽章は金管楽器がなかなか健闘している。一方で、こうした特長が最も活かされているが第2楽章ではないかと思う。片思いの恋のはかなさ、それが終わった時の空虚感（ファンファーレとコーダ）といったようなものが感じられる。交響曲という芸術作品として聴くのはなく、あくまでも作曲家と恋人の物語として聴くと楽しいと思う。尚、第4楽章では従来通り反復は未実行。
