    起承転結とかいう話の劇的な展開は無し。主人公の心の動きが細やかに描写され、読みながら彼と一体となって彼の人生を一時過ごしたような感覚がじんわりと残る。目にする動物や建物、住人など出会う風景や人物、耳にする音に呼び起される思い出や思考を辿る。ごく普通に生きる一個人の心の動きを追うことで、この世に存在するあるいは存在した幾多の命を人生を感じさせる。今とつながる過去や未来に圧倒される。とても私的な小説だがそこには広がる普遍的な時間空間を超えた世界がある。
