ハイドンも良いが白眉はシューマンである。何と確信に溢れ深く充実した響きだろう、EMIのシューマン（やや平板な印象）もこのぐらいであって欲しかった。EMIのが７０点だとするとこの演奏は９５点以上を付けて良いと思う。今までデッカのシューリヒトを超える２番は聴けないと思っていたが、ここのチェリはシューリヒトを超えている。２番は１５種位聴いてきたが、カラヤン、セル、クーベリック、シノーポリ、サヴァリッシュ等と次元の違う、単なる素晴らしさを超えたチェリ会心の演奏である。録音も厚みのある音で申し分なく良い。
