Time Off

The Working Stiffs recorded Time Off in a small beach house on the Oregon coast in a weekend. It is the band having fun making music. It is also a nod to the rock, jazz, fusion, and soul artists who inspire them. In October 2012, The Working Stiffs debuted Time Off at Portland's Blue Monk to an enthusiastic standing-room-only crowd. The band has quietly built a local reputation based on consistent hard work and the passion to play. When Portland's KGW Channel 8 interviewed the band one summer evening, it became the first of Portland Parks and Recreation's Movies in the Park line-up to receive such recognition. McMenamins' White Eagle Saloon is a favorite haunt, and the band is exploring new venues. Jim Wilcox and Stan Jones formed The Working Stiffs in 1992, and the band blossomed in 2011 when bassist Jeff Ommert joined. From the start, The Working Stiffs brushed off conventional wisdom and was a band even when there was no time to play. Rolling stones gather no moss, and The Working Stiffs are already back in StiffWerks to follow their muse to the next album. In the meantime, The Working Stiffs look forward to perform music from their two albums, Tsunami Tsessions and Time Off... and to debut material from the next album.
