Iconic: Message 4 America

Born into a musical family, Sheila Escovedo (Sheila E.) has been driven by an inner rhythm her entire life. Ever since her first public performance at 5 years old, she was influenced and inspired by her percussionist father Pete Escovedo and other family members. She has since established herself as a talented percussionist/performer in demand for recording sessions and tours. Her collaboration with superstar Prince helped elevate her to pop superstardom and generated the hit album The Glamorous Life. Her latest project, Iconic: Message 4 America, features Ringo Starr, Bootsy Collins, Israel Houghton and many more. The album was created while she was in mourning for Prince after his death and evolved into a protest album inspired by the political unrest surrounding the presidential election. The album kicks off with Funky National Anthem: Message 2 America which was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s message of nonviolence, and continues with tracks such as Come Together-Revolution, It Starts With Us and Respect Yourself.
