Two CD compilation from the German Electronic Prog Rock outfit. Revisited & Remixed contains a selection of Electronica and Werner Herzog soundtrack recordings together with 10 Ambient, Down tempo and Club remixes. Side a contains original Popol Vuh tracks, highlighting their Ambient- and Electronica oeuvre, including 1970ｴs Moog III Synthesizer tracks and selected soundtracks of Werner Herzogｴs movie-classics Aguirre, Nosferatu and Cobra Verde, Side B introduces their music to a younger audience: It includes tribute remixes by Viennaｴs Peter Kruder (Kruder & Dorfmeister), Electronic combos Mouse on Mars and Stereolab, Dub experts a Critical Mass, Moritz von Oswald, Thomas Fehlmann (The Orb), deep housed Roland Appel and Alex Bark (Jazzanova), and minimal specialists Mika Vainio (Pan Sonic) and Haswell/Hecker.

PopolVuh（=F・ﾌﾛｯｹ）や、ASHRA（=M・ｺﾞｯﾁﾝｸﾞ）の音楽が、時を閲しても多くの根強い愛好家に好まれるのは、実は、根底に確固とした音楽性を持ち、それを崩したところにある作品だからと感じます。人類のDNAに刻み込まれた何らかの遠い記憶を呼び覚ます独特の作品群。決して難解ではなく、心地よい麻薬のような異界感覚。実は、ﾌﾟﾛｸﾞﾚの巨人、Mike　Oldfieldと共通する音楽性、ﾒﾛﾃﾞｨの快感を感じます。スクラッチノイズだらけのLP以来、何度も何度もCD、輸入版のｹﾞｰﾄﾌｫｰﾙﾄﾞCD、日本版の紙ｼﾞｬｹｯﾄ、何度か編まれたBOXｾｯﾄ、と買い続けていますが、今回は、趣向を変えたRIMIXとのｾｯﾄなので、またまた楽しみです。
