1931年ルイジアナ生まれのソウルジャズ、ハードバップテナー奏者のプラス・ジョンソン。ヘンリー・マンシーニ、ピンクパンサーのテーマでサックスを吹いていることで良く知られている。キャピトルレコードに残した「This Must Be the Plas!」(Capitol Records ST-1281) と「Mood for the Blues」 (Capitol Records ST-1503)をカプリングした2in1CD。1959年にシングル盤で発売された貴重な音源2曲がボーナストラックとして追加。（輸入元情報）
