商品説明

Kismet, synchronicity, fate, chance, chaos-theory...call it what you will. When people are meant to play together, the Universe will see that they do. What follows is the story of four young musicians who rode the soundwaves to each other. During a week in the summer of 2002, Summer Mencher, Sara Carter and Toby Karlin met at Band Camp, at a one week music program held by Berklee College of Music in LA. After jam sessions and all-night adventures, the three became friends, but scattered to their various corners of America to finish up high school. Just over a year later, Summer, Sara and Toby met again during their first semester at Berklee College of Music. Toby's new neighbor and Summer's eventual fiance, Jon Lall, ensured that the four would spend the next few years doing what every group of music college students do; dorm room jam sessions, late night TV marathons, ramen-noodle and cookie dough binges, etc. After college they all went on their separate roads, but just a couple short years later, fate would bring all four to meet again in Los Angeles. Toby was making sounds with Electropop, Indie Rock, and Retro Jazz bands all the while composing for Los Angeles contemporary dance staple Invertigo Dance Theater, founded by his sister Laura. Sara, after honing her skills on her axe to a sharp point, had become a very in-demand guitarist. She was playing with several rising Los Angeles bands where she was consistently 'that chick who totally rocks the guitar, man.' Summer and Jon, individual singer-songwriters in their own rights, performing to growing crowds in San Diego and Los Angeles. They would eventually play shows and write songs together. Jon's flair for R&B perfectly complemented Summer's progressive folk-rock, and their harmonious duets would become a highlight of interest among their fans. They officially decided to start making music together and appropriately called themselves Indian Summer. One evening, Summer and Jon invited Toby over for an evening of delicious food and casual conversation. It was in the hours of jamming & music that followed when Indian Summer became something special. When the four came together the effortlessness of writing music felt refreshingly new. Now they write and rehearse on a regular basis. The music being created by these four long-time friends is fresh, harmonious and enchanting. Indian Summer is still growing in every way. Indian Summer has recently finished recording their first EP, Four Days in Arkham, which will be released in February of 2013, and have plans to tour in the near future.
