I Thought You Knew

I figured it would be best if i wrote directly to whomever decides to read this, so this is me... BLOOM. This project is something that I am truly proud of. I've been a fan of Hip Hop for a long long time and in the late 90's I started noticing that their wasn't really a sound out that i was looking for, so i decided to start making music that I wanted to hear. At that time I was really into the Living Legends and Hieroglyphics, so naturally I sounded like a weak knockoff version. Luckily i kept at it and took bits and pieces of styles from everything i listened to... 'Not just rap'. I eventually created a sound of my own. I know consider my music to be something that a Hip Hop fan would enjoy, because if I could go back in time and give myself this CD i would love it. Now my only choice is to find the new Hip Hop fans that are looking for something new and give them what I made. My album is entitled 'I Thought You Knew'. The album is actually named after one of the songs on my album rather than the opposite. I felt like this title was a fitting statement for people that knew of me, but never gave my music the time of day. This album has 15 total tracks, 14 songs and one song intro. Each song is as good as the next and has a different feel as you scan the LP. I make my music off of emotion of course, so it shows through my writing that i could be cocky, self-conscious, playful, angry or random. One thing that I've always told myself when making music is 'make sure it always sounds dope no matter what the subject is'. I think i captured the feeling I aimed for in each song. Some of my favorites include 'Heavy Crown', 'Get Like Me (average)' and 'I Thought You Knew', these songs were all written from the heart and contain real emotion and put out the truth about myself even though it may not fall into the typical 'cool guy, toot my own horn' Hip Hop that most fans are used to. This project also includes a fan favorite 'Yellow & Blue' feat. Casual of Hieroglyphics. I was proud and blessed to work with Casual on this album since he was one of my main inspirations in making my music. I've released this album on an independent record label that i am the co-founder of called, Heavy Crown Records. This label is owned by my childhood best friend and myself. We are dedicated to putting out quality music. Any support is truly appreciated... we can't make it without fan support so we'd like to thank you in advance for the love.
