Formed in 1998, the all-girl rock band Betty Blowtorch tore into the Hollywood music scene with a riotous glam/garage rock sound and a surplus of anger, humor, verve, and attitude. Infamous for their wild, pyrotechnic, balls-to-the-wall live shows, Bianca Butthole, Blare N Bitch, Sharon Needles, and Judy Molish took over where Iggy Pop and the New York Dolls left off, and carved a niche usually reserved for male rockers. Documentary filmmaker Anthony Scarpa spent two years following the band, but his film took a tragic turn in New Orleans when lead-singer Bianca died in a car accident.
