From 2002-2007, under the band name Green Lemon, the members of The Aquatic Lights toured the full expanse of the United States in pursuit of musical excellence. Now, after a long hiatus full of songwriting and turning back to their roots in Colorado, the Aquatic Lights musical collective is proud to offer you their debut album release, 'Arrows'. The songs on 'Arrows' have been a labor of love for over ten years; they have been edited, mulled-over, re-written, destroyed, and resurrected along their path into the economic universe. The album 'Arrows' is a blend of Motown, soul, and independent rock that attempts to bring sincerity and genuine intent back into modern music. As a result, the sounds of the album move from stripped down singer-songwriter ballads to full-bore thematic rock. Our musical collective is 100% independent. Every dollar you spend with the Aquatic Lights goes directly into the next album that we release. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your interest in our music. Below is a letter from us to you. Dear Friend, Thank you for being really kind and supporting a band that very well might slip back under the dark waters of historical obscurity. We tried playing music full-bore for years, getting to know some great people across the country and broadening our horizons four letters at a time. That is the way that art, and collectively, our culture, progresses-one impoverished, sarcastic situation at a time. The strange world in which we find ourselves values certainty above most other things. Big artistic investments are focus-grouped and subjected to financial analyses that end up discouraging bands from making albums whose impact might be unpredictable. That's unfortunate because unpredictability is what makes art worthwhile. When it's good, it displays the past in the context of possibilities we might make real. That is, it presents the part of ourselves that looks forward instead of the part that tries to hold on, white knuckled, to things we are eventually going to lose anyway. What you realize when you're in a band is that this looking forward is something that kind of has to happen through meeting other people. We're all going to go down, under the tide of it all, eventually. But when we decide to be part of an artistic community, we're deciding that being ourselves is more important than anxiety. To be kind of pretentious about it, disappearing is a strange prospect, unless what you're disappearing into is whatever home you've managed to uncover.
