米国ルイジアナ州ニューオーリンズ出身のピアニスト／歌手／ソングライター／プロデューサー、アラン・トゥーサン。特に1960年代から70年代にかけては、アーマ・トーマス、リー・ドーシー、ミーターズ、ラベル、ポール・サイモン、ザ・バンドなど数多くのアーティストのプロデュース、作曲、編曲を手がけ、ニューオーリンズを発信源とする南部R&Bシーンを支えてきた。・近年はエルヴィス・コステロ、エリック・クラプトン等の英国勢、ビズ・マーキー、KRS ONE、アウトキャスト等のヒップホップ勢とのクロスオーヴァーでも話題を集め、コラボ作品で若いリスナーの間でもレジェンド的な人気を集める。

本作は2009年秋、ニューヨークYのJoes' Pubで録音されたライヴ・アルバム。トゥーサンが作曲した名曲の数々を取り上げた、ソング・ブック的内容のライヴである。指揮＆プロデュースはトゥーサンの長年の友人であるPaul Siegel。

本作は上記の25Track VersionのCDに2009年9月にJoe’s Pubで行われた初出のライヴ映像とスタジオ・インタビュー映像（25分）を収録したDVDを加えたDeluxe Edition。
