これは素晴らしい！　日本での上演は余りありませんが、比較的映像に恵まれたヴェルディの若書きオペラに、一押しの映像の出現です。シンプルな構成舞台ですが、美術や衣裳など全てに色彩感覚に優れ、金色の台座の使い回しといい、魔女たちの頭巾の赤色といい、非常に効果的です。魔女たちを黒子のようにしたアイデアも秀逸。歌手ではこの役を得意にしているだけあって、グレギーナに拍手を！　バリトンも表情豊かで好演好唱。夢遊病の場は、侍女と医師もしっかり存在感を持ち、演出の仕立ても入念で見応えがあります。美意識の欠如した最近の殺風景なオペラ映像氾濫に一石を投じるもの。バレンシアといい、スペインのオペラ・ハウスは要注意かも。
