現代の衣装による演出で、印象としてはピーター・セラーズ版に近いが、様々な点で一枚上手。最初のドン･ジョヴァンニとドンナ・アンナのからみからして通常と全く違った解釈だが、ただ普通と違うだけでなく、それがちゃんと説得力を持つように描かれている所が凄い。アンナについて言えば、最初は合意の上でジョヴァンニと関係を持った彼女が復讐を叫びだすに至る心理の変化がちゃんと表現されているということだ。演奏自体はやや非力だが、「薬屋の歌」などの性的な表現も強烈で、これまた通常とは全く違う幕切れまで、一瞬も目を離せない。
