このプロダクションの初演は1999年1月だが、当DVDは2001年1/2月再演の時のものである。初演とはアンナ、ツェルリーナが交替しているが、圧倒的に今回の方が素晴らしい。それは、一にIsabel Reyによっている。彼女のアンナは、歌唱だけでいえばクリップス盤(DECCA)のシュザンヌ・ダンコに匹敵いや凌駕している。 また、初演ではエルヴィラ役のバルトリが練習時に積雪に足をとられて打撲し、杖をついての登場だったことも興味深い。 男声陣も含め、まさに圧巻の一語に尽きる。
