ムラヴィンスキーが東京文化会館の指揮台に...

ムラヴィンスキーが東京文化会館の指揮台に立った最後の記録。演奏は素晴らしいが音質はやはり正規の手順を踏んだ録音でないだけにいまいち。当日自分はこれを聴いていたが、たしかに以前より音に柔らかみがでてはいたが、ここまで柔らかい音ではなかった。とはいえこのとき演奏会場で鳴っていた音楽はまぎれもなく特大の超名演。これを収録した当盤が貴重な記録であることは間違いない。あと当日の曲目が演奏順にコンプリートに並んでいるが、プログラムの組み方にもかなり神経を使っていたムラヴィンスキーだけに、制作者のこの配慮だけでもとても嬉しいものがある。それだけでも星五つだ。

「田園」にはアファナシエフ／モスクワ放送ＳＯというさらなる名盤があるが、ワーグナーの管弦楽曲はすごい。特に「ワルキューレの騎行」は金管楽器の音色が輝かしく、圧倒的な名演である。
