    石集めが好きなロバのシルベスターは、ある日まほうの小石を拾います。その帰り道の途中、腹を空かせたライオンと出会ってしまい……。 物語が急転直下する理由が非常に間の抜けたものになっているのですが、朴訥とした絵も相俟って展開に無理は感じられず、読む者はこの家族に救いの手が差し伸べられることを願わずにはいられません。 そして長い試練の後に訪れるハッピーエンドは、とても暖かいものです。
