The four works on this CD take Stokowski's exceptional qualities as a program planner. Well, no other conductor of the 20th century and certainly none of it's importance, has reached such a width of the repertoire as he did. This is evidenced also the 2,000 premieres he has conducted during his 60 year career. With it's tremendous pace of production in the 30s, especially the many recordings, he became world famous. Success has always envious: while the sales of his LPs were in the thousands, voices were heard, who moved his artistic competence in doubt. All the better that we today from the time interval out (Stokowski died in 1977 at 95 years) on the basis of many traditional sound recording itself can take a picture.
