    今までのインド〜中近東の発掘音源は、60年代後半から70年代前作のものが大半だったんですが、CHITHRAという歌手のこのコンピは、80年代後半から90年代前作にかけてのものです。 時代を反映してか、ドラムマシンやサンプリングなどを用いたものが多く、こういったニューウェイブ〜ディスコ風のテクノロジーと従来からのタミール地方独特のコブシの効いた民謡調の節回し、甲高いヴォーカル、チャイルド・コーラスなどが微妙に融合して、今までのものとは一味違うものとなっています。
