Product Description

Released in 1973, this album is suitable to fans who especially like very British pop. The sound here clearly differs from that of the band's very early years. The calm, comfortable mood as depicted on the jacket sleeve well indicates that the title is fairly easy-going and more radio-friendly than anything they'd done before it. Apparently less Peter Gabriel here, and more instrumental tracks and some vocals by Phil Collins (Track 4). It is indeed interesting to know that Gabriel hates it and Collins quite likes it.

ファンタジックなジャケットそのままに、ジェネシスの全作品中、最も叙情的かつ美しいメロディで彩られた名盤。SACDにより音像が鮮明になったことで、この作品の寓話的世界がさらに奥行きを増した。動く彼らが観れるボーナスのDVDもファンにはたまらないお宝映像だろう。

昔国内では「月影の騎士」とタイトルされたこのAlbumはPeter Gabriel時代の最高峰の作品だと思います。Liveで良く披露される②③に加えて、’80以降はメドレーでしか披露されない⑦、PG脱退後はほとんどLiveで披露されていない①⑤など、名曲揃いです。これらは当然スタジオ録音ですが、Liveでも楽しめる曲ばかりです。PG時代のGenesisを知りたい方は、是非入手してみて下さい。

この甘美で繊細、且つ内向的な音世界に嵌まり込んだら中々抜け出せない、そんな作品の代表作でしょう、演奏の素晴らしさに加え、彼らならではの音の組み立てには絶賛するほどです。
