Product Description

A live album event and posthumous tribute to the late bassist Charlie Haden, who passed away in 2014. It is a legacy recording of Haden in concert with the equally iconic pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba at the Blue Note in Tokyo in March of 2005. The two great musicians had been playing together for 20 years at the time of the recording, which features the Rubalcaba/Haden collaboration, Nocturne. Also included are liner notes written by Mr. Rubalcaba, Cameron-Haden, Charlie's widow, and Ned Sublette.

チャーリー・ヘイデンとキューバの生んだ天才ゴンサロ・ルガルカバによるベースとピアノのデュオライブ作品。2005年東京でのライブ録音ということで、その前の年に二人が組んだ「ノクターン」と「ランドオブザサン」の世界観を汲んだライブ録音となっている。両作品はグラミー賞のラテンジャズ部門を受賞して世間的にも評価を得ているので、その流れを汲んだ本作もまた必然的に素晴らしい演奏内容となっている。グラミーを受賞した両作品を気に入ったのなら、是非とも本作にも手を伸ばしてもらいたい。ライブならではの生々しさも加わり最高の音楽空間が待っていることと思う。
