The classic album ‘Nonsuch ‘ has been mixed for 5.1 Surround Sound from the original studio masters by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) with input from Andy Partridge & is fully approved by XTC. CD features a completely new stereo album mix by Steven Wilson and non-album track “Didn’t Hurt a Bit”. Blu-Ray features a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio Surround (24bit/96khz) mixed from the original multi-track tapes, the new stereo album mix in DTS-HD Master Audio (24bit/96khz) and also features the original album mix in DTS-HD Master Audio stereo (24bit/96khz). Blu-Ray exclusively features instrumental versions of all new mixes in DTS-HD Master Audio stereo (24bit/96khz), Andy Partridge’s home demos & Colin Moulding’s work tapes for songs written for the album & contemporaneously. Promo films for “The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead” & “The Disappointed” and filmed footage of the band working on the album in Chipping Norton Studios also feature on the Blu-Ray. Presented in special packaging with expanded booklet & sleeve-notes by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding & Dave Gregory.

パンクブーム絶頂期にあったイギリスのミュージック・シーンに突如現れたXTC。どの文献をみても、彼らは「ひねくれ者」と書かれている。風刺的で毒づいたユーモアのある歌詞然り、メロディーライン然り、「ひねくれ者」と言われるのにも納得できるが、そういった概念に捕らわれずだだ聴いていると、英語が判らない私としては全く気にならないのだ。
