いかさま臭い風貌のダン・ヒックスが女性コーラスを従えてウェスタン・スウィング・リヴァイヴァルをプレイするというダン・ヒックス＆ホット・リックスは、最高のフェイクが最高の本物に転化することを見事に示してくれる。本作は彼らが1972年に発表したアルバム。マリア・マルダーが取り上げた”ウォーキング・ワン＆オンリー”のイナセな風情に酔い、名曲”ムーディ・リチャード”の月夜の晩を思わせるストリングスと甘苦いコーラスを噛み締めつつ聴きたい。それにしても80年代の終わりにこれとパンクを混ぜてたオリジナル・ラヴはやはり凄かった。
