全体的なバランスはちょっと悪い気がします...

全体的なバランスはちょっと悪い気がしますけど、フックのある曲が多くてかなり気に入ってます☆Ｍ－１は初めて９・１１を前向きに歌ったアーティストの曲として紹介されてて、評価も高かったみたいですけど、まさにその通りだと思います。ダークな雰囲気から悲惨な状況も感じられるし、でも前向きに一致団結するアメリカの良くも悪くもある部分が力強く歌われていて感動的な１曲ですね。

前作である「CRUSH」が彼等の作品にしては淡白な内容だったのに対して、今回はギターリフのへヴィさがまず耳に残り、非常に濃い内容のアルバムに仕上がりました。 歌詞も”9.11の悲劇”を直接的に扱うのではなく、あくまでポジティヴなメッセージに変換して音に乗せるところにさすがのセンスを感じさせます。タイトル通り、”躍動感”が伝わってきます。

バラード（系の楽曲）は、相変らず良いですね。歌詞の中のカウボーイという言葉が嬉しい⑧、エルトン・ジョンの「リーヴォンの生涯」を彷彿させる④、あと⑫など。バラードにいい曲が多いという点では、僕にとってはあのTHESE DAYSに近いものがありますね。ただCRUSH以降、ロック系の楽曲にかつてのような彼ら独特の高揚感みたいなものが、あまり感じられなくて残念です。もっともこのBOUNCEに関して言えば『９・１１』の直後に製作されたという、当時の米国の社会事情を考えると「それ以前と同じような、ワクワクする曲を作れ」（続く）
