ブルー・ライド・レンジャーズといっても、全てジョン一人が演奏し多重録音している。ジョン初のソロアルバムということ以外は何の話題もなく、全編にわたりＣ＆Ｗのスタンダード曲が延々と流れていて、オリジナル曲が一曲もない。これがあのスワンプロックを開拓した人のアルバムかと思うが、ＣＣＲ解散後いろいろなことがあったから、ジョンはしばらく道を外れていたかったのかもしれない。これが本来求めていた音楽とはとても思えないが、まあそういうことを抜きにして肩の力を抜けば、これはこれでなかなかいいカントリーアルバムかもしれない。
