何と言ってもここでのマイファニーはサイコー。リリカルでハードボイルドなマイルスのペット。それに寄り添うようにボトムを支えるチェンバースのベースも見事。スウィンギーにコロコロ転がるガーランドのピアノも状況設定の妙を発揮している。これだけでなく、他の曲も凄い出来。バラード、ブルース、ジャンプナンバー全部が素晴らしい。アングリーヤングテナーのコルトレーンも野太い。シンプルでドライブの効いた演奏がモウタマリマセン。ハードバップの良さが詰め込まれた作品。まさにこれぞジャズ。
