後期コルトレーンとの共演で見せたアナーキーな演奏や宗教色の濃い演奏のイメージの強いサンダースだが、スタンダードのバラードで統一した異色作。サンダースの実力の高さが、ひしひしと伝わる秀作だ。

コルトレーンのバラードをイメージするとがっかりする。あくまでファラオ。むしろまったく似てないぐらいだ。その耳でなら聞ける。
