１stと比べてアップテンポな曲の割合が増加した今作。「I wanna dance with somebody」や「So Emotional」を聴くと、バラードのイメージが強かった彼女でもアップテンポも十分歌いこなせることがよく分かる一枚だと思います。お得意のバラードも相変わらず健在で、ナンバー1ヒットになった「Didn’t We Almost Have It All」や「Where do broken hearts go」は文句なしですね。個人的に意外と気に入ったのは、カバー曲の「I Know Him So Well」。彼女の歌声にすごくマッチしていて、オリジナルのものよりもいいような気さえします。名盤です。

やはりWhitneyは最初の二枚で決まり。当時、なんでこんな「白い」サウンドなのか不思議だったけど、やはりそれが正解。当時住んでたアメリカのレコ屋に鬼のように陳列されてました。
