私が彼を知ったのは、彼が存在する事をやめてしまった後。Pink Moonから彼を聴き出したが、残念ながら簡単に拒否されてしまった。彼の閉鎖した心に同調する事を拒絶されてしまった。外側から眺めるしか術は無かった。 Bryter LayterはNick Drakeのファンからは、あまり好意的な意見を聞かない彼の2ndアルバム。私個人は彼が「完成」させる事の出来た唯一のアルバムではないかと思っている。ここにはミュージシャンとしてのプライドを持った彼がまだ存在する。彼の作った「ひとつのアルバム」として、楽しむ事が出来るアルバムだと思う。 熱心な信者の多い彼のアルバムをどうのこうの言うのには、チョッピリ勇気がいる。でも私が、Nick Drakeを聴くなら、このアルバムかな。

「ニックの作品の中で一番幸せな作品」って評をたまに見掛けるが、その度に「馬鹿ヤロー！」って叫んでます心の中で。参加したジョンケイルの諸作にも影響を与えた奇跡的な作品。シドバレットの1st、Pウォータースの2ndとジャケを並べるとカラス除けに効果あり
