Ever since their 2003 debut album, SPIRIT OF THE FOREST, Korpiklaani have continuously made their way to absolute top of the Humppa (Finnish Polka) metal scene. 2009s KARKELO (Finnish for Party) made an impact in the States on tours such as the Paganfest and others. Fans call their music Drinking-Metal or Party-Metal as they write cheerful, fun-loving folk songs that are undeniably catchy. UKON WACKA is a reference to a Pagan, sacrificial feast from ancient Finland where drink and food were plentiful. It has a very ancient and heavily folk-influenced feel and is completely sung in Finnish, save for one powerful song. Every album has a tribute to an alcoholic beverage Beer Beer, Let's Drink, Vodka and now Tequila, dedicated to their South American fans!
