R.E.M. Collapse Into Now Concord Records; 2011s Collapse Into Now marks the fifteenthand finalstudio album from R.E.M.. Intentionally (but not publically) planned by the group to be their last work together, Collapse Into Now lyrically hints at R.E.M.s disbanding, and was popularly considered to be a return to the classic R.E.M. sound. Recorded in four different cities: Berlin, New Orleans, Nashville and Portland Oregon, Collapse features guest appearances by Patti Smith and Pearl Jams Eddie Vedder. It has now been released on R.E.M.'s new label Concord.

おやじも喜ぶ分厚いギターサウンドに大満足。それにしても、発売後それなりの日数が経っているのにレヴューの少なさが気に懸ります。Ｒ．Ｅ．Ｍってやっぱり、２０代までの若者の支持層が薄いのかな？是非、聴いておくれ、カッコイイから！

ワーナー移籍後の集大成のような内容です。前作同様全体の収録時間は短めで、一気に聴きとおせます。聴くほどに味が出てくる「スルメ」アルバムのようでもあり、彼らの進化は続いていることを実感します。ゲストミュージシャンもいいアクセントになっていると思います。
