UR脱退後90年代の「Waveform Transmission」シリーズでテクノ/ダンス・シーンにハード・ミニマル・サウンドの礎を打ち立てたJEFFが依然活発に活動しながら2000年に発表した本作は、古典的名作として知られるFRITZ LANG監督による1926年のドイツ発の無声カルトSF映画「METROPOLIS」にあわせたサウンド・トラックとして制作された非常にコンセプチュアルな一枚。JEFF本人が映画自体に強い思い入れを持ち、それぞれの場面/物語にあわせて紡いでいく電子音には各楽曲とその流れ、曲と曲との繋がりにも強いストーリー性を感じさせ、ビートレスなものからうごめき躍動するストイックなミニマル・トラックまでアルバム一枚を通じ完成された高い作品性を持っている。その絶対的な世界観に圧倒される繊細で深淵、そして美しいエレクトロニック・ミュージック。
