1994年結成、元々バリバリのハードコア・サウンドからエモーショナルな良質のインディ・ロックサウンドに移り変わり、ボストンのインディ・ロック・シーンを代表するバンドPIEBALD。そのPIEBALDのレア・バックカタログを集めたコンピレーション・シリーズ「First Then Years」が登場。廃盤・入手困難になっていたレア・トラックを中心にコンパイルしたシリーズの第一弾。5月に第二弾、6月には第三弾と続けてリリースを予定しています。第一弾は、デビュー・アルバム「When Live Hands You Lemons」（1997年）や現在入手困難なEP「Split 7” with Cave In」（1996年）からのレコーディングを含む、PIEBALD初期の楽曲をフィーチャーした2枚組CD、計30曲を収録。2008年にバンドは解散したもののこのリリースを記念して本国ではリユニオン・ライブが行われるとのこと。ファンには嬉しいニュースです!! シリーズ第一弾からお見逃し無く!
