Product Description

Limited super deluxe three disc (two CDs + DVD) edition with three gatefold mini jackets, capacity envelope holding five portfolo prints and a bonus DVD. CD One is the remastered album while CD Two contains b-sides, rarities and more. The DVD features the Unforgettable Fire Collection, previously unreleased live performances from a Conspiracy of Hope concert, Live Aid performances, rare videos, and a documentary on the making of the Unforgettable Fire. This new edition was remastered by band's guitarist, the Edge, and contains a 56 page booklet with liner notes from the band and other contributors. Features the hits 'Pride (In the Name of Love)', 'Bad' and the title track.

このアルバムについては、個人的に曲は良いが、音像が軽い印象がある。特に①②④⑦⑩が特に気に入っている。イーノの影響が色濃く出ているので個人的にはあまり好きではない。

Unforgettable Fireはイーノfeat.U2みたいなアルバム　　 ブートでUnforgettable Fireのサウンドチェック音源を聞いたことがあるのですが、反復する音を聴いてるとまるでイーノの環境音楽みたいでした　　 イーノとU2ががっぷり4つに組んだ作品です　　 ボノの暑苦しいボーカルも、イーノにキラキラと浄化されそうになるんですけど、それに負けじとボノもこぶしを利かせるし　　　　 エッジもイーノのどこまでも響く反復に呑み込まれそうになるのをポストパンク魂（Wireとか）で対抗しつつ　　 アダムも面白いベース弾いてると思うんですけど、あれ、なんかあんまり聴こえない？みたいな　　　　 巨人イーノに無謀な戦いを挑んだアイルランドの田舎者たちの戦いの記みたいなアルバムだと思いました　　　　 このデラックスバージョンはボーナストラックがすごくいいのでおすすめです　　　　 皆美しいんですけど、イーノ色が強くなりすぎるから当時は仕上げなかったのかなーと思いました。

このアルバムで彼らは初めて「抑揚」を音楽に注入する事になりました。 首謀者はブライアン・イーノ＆ダニエル・ラノワ。 2人の根気強いプロデュース・ワークこそが、後にU2がとてつもないバンドに達するためには必然だったのです。 1曲目のラリーのドラミングが既にそれまでとは全く違います。 「Pride」でのPOP SONGとしての完璧な構成、次作に入っていてもおかしくない本作内で断トツの大名曲「Bad」。 この2曲により、彼らは同時代のどのバンドよりも将来を約束された位置にまで辿り着いたのです。
