Not immediately as, erm, immediate as Norman Cook s earlier work, Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars bears the marks of a man who s been through a coupla things of late. Whether it was his marriage or the birth of Fatbaby Woody, there s clearly a more considered, more studied Slim on show here and one that s taken the advice of beat co-conspirators the Chemical Brothers in bringing in outside talent to help tie the set s top-knot. So there s a blissful, almost Balearic (check the sleeve) vibe alongside one of downright real singing ( Demons with Macy) alongside a more complex yet somehow (somehow...) simpler assemblage of dance patterns ( Weapon Of Choice ). There s plenty here to satisfy the appetite with enough Fatboy Slimming to fill the hungriest of bellies, it just might take a little longer for the real depth of taste to hit the buds.

'00年発表｡あｰもったいない｡多分作り方しだいでは正真正銘のﾒｶﾞﾄﾝ･ﾌﾞﾚｲｸとなったであろう2年ぶり3作目｡脳味噌とろけるﾋﾞｯｸﾞ･ﾋﾞｰﾄものはわずか2曲｡ﾋﾞｰﾂ･ｲﾝﾀｰﾅｼｮﾅﾙから始まった彼のDJ哲学にﾙｰﾂを見いだしたかのようなﾊｳｽ回帰(この際ﾊｳｽﾏｰﾃｨﾝｽﾞは忘れる)｡でもいい｡天国と地獄を足して2で割った感じの場所という切実な確認作業は感動的｡今回始めてﾉｰﾏﾝに出会う人は幸せ｡
