アルバムを発表する毎に、確かな成長が刻まれるバンド。ハードロックやノイズ、パンクの衝動をも飲み込んだサウンドに、メロウでセンチメンタル、青春ビターなメロディーが乗る。まだ蒼臭さが残り荒削りなこのデビュー作にはそんな彼らの原点がきらきらと輝き詰まっている。

このアルバム、普通に良いとは思うんですが、初めてアッシュを聴く人はむしろこれより３rdの方が良いのではないでしょうか。 ここに入っている曲でも歌にしろ演奏にしろ４thのライブ版の方が良かったりします。 そしてこのアルバムはそういった後々の成長を知った上でティムのボーカリングの頼りなさまでをも愛を持って聴くようなためのものと思われます。

若さが溢れて来るｻｳﾝﾄﾞ｡ﾊﾞﾗｰﾄﾞもﾊﾞﾗﾝｽ良くちりばめられて､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑを通しても疲れない｡3rdも捨てがたいですが､最高傑作はやっぱこの1st｡彼らのやんちゃさ､そして､音楽に対する情熱を感じました｡
