ブルータルで残忍極まりないリフの嵐とデス声。そこに切り込んでくる美しいギターソロのこの対比。デスメタルの枠にとどまらず、ヘヴィメタルの重要な名盤。

ﾒﾛﾃﾞｽは好みではないが、この作品は凄い！　ﾃﾞｽ声が苦手な人にも、この楽曲の良さは伝わると思う。　ｶﾊﾞｰ写真がｷﾞｰｶﾞｰのﾃﾞｻﾞｲﾝにしては少々ﾁｰﾌﾟなｵﾌﾞｼﾞｪだが、見た目でためらわずに聴きましょう。こういう音を聴くと、HMのｼﾞｬﾝﾙ分けなんて、無意味で余計なことだと思う。

従来のカーカスらしさは失われたもののメロデスの歴史的名盤という声の多い本作には一切捨て曲無し。 タイトル曲がやはり頭一つ突き抜けているが、６や８なども素晴らしい。 破滅と哀愁入り混じる一枚で気に入っている。
