ラプソディー・イン・ブルーは名曲中の名曲で演奏機会も録音も非常に多い。しかし、ここへ来てまたまた名演の登場だ。恐ろしく精密で、それでいてダイナミックなデ・ビリーの解釈は独特、そして何よりロジェの静謐にしてリリシズムの神髄を見せつけるピアノ独奏が光る。何とも叙情的でメローな演奏だ。

ガーシュインの音楽には「神の啓示」としか思えない一瞬がある。ビリーはそれを見事に音化した。ラブソディ・冒頭、クラリネットのグリッサンドにはびっくりした。徹底的にやっている。最後のピアノと掛け合いのシーンでのリズムの崩し方・・・ウマイ！この指揮者、気に入った！！今後が楽しみだ。

ラベルの協奏曲ト長調でも、このコンビは抜群の演奏を披露してくれた。特に２楽章でのロジェの繊細なタッチには参った。ＤＧの小澤盤も持っているが、ロジェ＆ビリーのセンスには及ばない。今回も大いに期待している。
