It wasn't just the music-it was the connection the groups made with the crowd that made Wattstax such a glorious event. It was the summer of '72 at the LA Coliseum, and this is what they heard: Knock on Wood Eddie Floyd; I'll Take You There Staple Singers; Killing Floor Albert King; Theme from Shaft Isaac Hayes; B-A-B-Y Carla Thomas; Do the Funky Chicken Rufus Thomas, plus Little Milton, Bar-Keys even Richard Pryor gets in on it. First domestic release of the entire soundtrack-over three hours!
