800兆円の借金をかかえ破綻の危機に瀕した日本を救うため、財務省大臣官房経済政策課の下川路（阿部寛）は、ある計画を進めていた。
それは1990年にタイムスリップし、"バブル破壊"を止め、歴史を作り変えるという仰天プラン!　
その極秘プロジェクトが白羽の矢をたてたのは借金返済に追われるフリーターの真弓（広末涼子）だった。真弓はタイムマシンの開発者であった真理子（薬師丸ひろ子）の一人娘。一足先にタイムスリップした母親の真里子が90年の東京で失踪したことを知った真弓は、借金から逃れるため、そして母親を救うためドラム式洗濯機に乗り込み、タイムスリップを決行する！
果たして、下川路と真弓は真理子を無事救出することができるのか!?
