Product Description

The Smashing Pumpkins have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in music history. Tracks such as 'Today', 'Cherub Rock', '1979', 'Tonight, Tonight' and 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' defined the alternative music era and continue to resonate, influencing a whole new generation.

'Zeitgeist', is the sixth album from The Smashing Pumpkins and their first of new material since 2000's 'Machina/ The Machines of God'. The album was produced by Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin with Roy Thomas Baker and Terry Date working separately on various tracks. The twelve-track collection represents the culmination of over two years work.

超へヴィ且メロディック・・何故評価されないのか？スマパン＝メランコリックと思うんかな皆は。少なくともROCKを３０年近く聞き続けた身としてこれはメタルとかパンクとかそういう概念捨てて聞いて欲しいな・・・

やはり色々自身のセルフコントロールへの情熱が、気持ちは本当に痛く切ない程伝わってくるのだが、最初からエンジン全開であるわりには空回り？といった印象であったが、とんでもなかった。もちろん、ビリー＆ジミーの二人で作ったこの作品は、ダーシーやイハ、メリッサの不在を嫌という程感じさせる。しかし、未来はこれから。轟音パンプキンズ、としての代表的な傑作になるであろうと共に、実は繊細でロマンティックなビリーの気持ちがストレートに表れ、良い意味で力の抜けた、”本当に良い曲”、that’s the wayなどに、パンプキンズの本質を感
