Product Description

'Send Away The Tigers' is the eighth studio album from the Welsh rock group Manic Street Preachers. The title comes from a saying Tony Hancock used to use when he wanted a drink (similar to "the demons are coming"). It deals with Tony Hancock and the decline of Tony Blair. The liberation of the zoo in Baghdad has also played a central theme. Tracks include 'Rendition' (vaguely based on Jack Lemmon in the film 'Missing' and mixed with the CIA act of rendition). Nina (from The Cardigans) also makes an appearance on 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' and 'Autumn Song' which carries on the same sort of ideals that 'Sweet Child O Mine' reflected about falling in love.

一曲目のギターのイントロ、そして声を張り上げた瞬間、コレだ！と唸った。2ndあたりの伸びやかでダイナミックなつくりに回帰したような、そんなマニックスらしさが凝縮された、胸のすくような快作。再生。さぁ前を向いて進もう。彼らの作り出す音楽は、その歩んできた道のりと共に、いつだって僕らの胸に切実に響くんだ。

ソロ活動後に初心に帰ってリリースしただけあって、デビュー当時の音に近いですね。「ライフブラッド」の反動とも取れますが、ちょっと突き抜けた感じは好感が持てます。やっぱり根っからロック好きなんですね、まだまだこれからもやってくれそうです。

レコーディングでジェームズの白のレスポールカスタムが解禁されたことでここまですがすがしいアルバムを作ってくれるとは。前々作ではアコギを使った曲がチラホラ、前作ではキーボード多用、フライングVやポールリードスミスを使ってのレコーディングなど、今までと変わったことをしてきたため、実験的な曲が多かった。しかし、今作はストレートかつ芯のあるサウンド満載！個人的には、新しい”Generetion Terrorists”。再出発を感じさせる。
