難破船から逃げ出した黒人とカリブの島の先住民とが混淆してできたカリフナ族は独自の文化を育んだがイギリスに追われて 故郷の島を脱出して中米の沿岸に移り住み現在でもいくつかの国にまたがって独自の言語を残しながら暮らしている。　Andy Palacioはベリースのカリフナ。 曲は伝統的なものカリフナの教会で歌う歌等）と新しく作ったものがあるようだけれど私にくわしいことはわからないが到底古いものとは感じられない。Andy Palacioが急死した今貴重な録音と言えるでしょう。録音の質は非常に高い。英訳の歌詞もついている。
