Pat Methenyがバリトンギター（Linda Manzer製作）一本で自宅で録音したソロアルバムです。 3曲を除いてオリジナル曲。 カバーは、「ドント・ノー・ホワイ」（ノラ・ジョーンズがグラミー賞で8冠を制覇したジェシ・ハリスの曲）やキース・ジャレット初期の名曲「マイ・ソング」など。 プロデューサーはパット・メセニーと息のあったスティーヴ・ロドビー。だからかソロアルバムなのに独りぼっち感がないなぁと思う。 2004年にベストニューエイジアルバムのグラミー賞を受賞、ジャズのグラミー賞以外も獲得した。

２００１年１１月２４日自宅スタジオ、NYCでの録音。さらに２００３年１月、２月に追加録音とトラックダウン。 バリトン・ギター一本というユニークな楽器に挑戦。 カナダ製のギターで、チューニングや弦を変えて試みた作品です。 実に「心温まる素晴らしい作品」です。一人静かに、メセニー・ワールドを堪能しておりますと、「祈り」「平和」「内なる深い世界」「外なる無限の世界」の感覚が感じとれます。 ジャケットもいいんです。 ”One Quiet Night”タイトルも好ましいです。 静かで穏やかな精神世界への旅へのご案内的音楽。
