Product Description

After a decade-long recording hiatus, Mariya Takeuchi is now back in action as she issues her first cover album, 'Longtime Favorites', following up with her 2001 comeback 'Bon Appetit'. Her latest project was originated from 'Sunday Songbook', the radio program for which her husband and singer/songwriter Tatsuro Yamashita has been the personality for long. She occasionally appeared on the program to perform some of '60s standard tunes. Listener reaction has been so positive that Takeuchi decided to record a cover album, which had been her longtime dream. The album is comprised of her '60s favorite tunes such as 'You Don't Know', 'Non Ho L'eta' and 'Where The Boys Are'. The set also features her duet with veteran singer/songwriter Eikichi Otaki on 'Something Stupid'. Co-produced by Yamashita, 'Longtime Favorites' will breathe new life into familiar pop standards.

弟のＭＤを聞いて、すごいと思い遺品のＣＤを探したらありました。このところ毎日聞いています。オーバーラップするのは”伊東ゆかり”です。 あの頃の女性歌手では、伊藤ゆかりとザ・ピーナッツが最高です。二人（三人）とも、ドイツ語やイタリア語の歌の上手いこと。 こんなＣＤがあったとは、解説のインテリジェンスとボーナス盤も泣けてきます。

中学生の頃夢中になって聴いていた名曲てんこ盛りって感じです。当時のラジオやシングル・ドーナツ盤で聴いていた曲ばかりで涙ものです。これを聴いて懐かしく涙ものと感じる人は団塊世代前後の人々だろう。洋盤より、日本語カバーは、当時のヒットパレードを彷彿させ切なくて泣けます。私にとって”あの時代”の初恋的叙情歌大全集って感じです。良い音楽は永遠です・・・弘田ミエコの顔を思い出してしまうのは何故だろう。
