Director Richard Linklater turns his hand to animation in his latest film 'Waking Life', using a process of animating over shot footage he weaves an imaginative story about a quest to find the difference between the dreamworld and waking life. 主人公が、ある街に戻ってくる。偶然なのか必然なのか、彼は様々な人々と出会い、彼らの溢れ出る言葉に耳を傾けて行く。出会った人々が何者で、何処から来て何処へ行くのかも分からぬまま、そして、彼自身も何処から来て何処へ行くのかも分からぬまま、その言葉の洪水を浴びつづける主人公。幾度となく夢の中で目覚める夢を見る。夢と現実の境界線もわからぬまま、運命に突き動かされるように、彼の迷宮の旅は続く……。
