Nasir Jones is back in full effect with his highly anticipated double album, 'Streets Disciples'. The production duties come courtesy of Nas, Salaam Remi, Q-Tip, Scott Storch, Chucky Thompson and L.E.S, so you know its going to be a powerful album. Nas presents a persona that is part mysterious, part street poet and part outspoken social critic. His fans will know the he doesn't conform to prescribed archetype, but excels peoples expectations of him - this album does exactly that.

'Streets Disciples' is a classic album in the making as Nas spans the history of hip hop where old skool meets new skool as well as blending various genres. The first single to be released off the album is Nas' collaboration with his father Olu Dara on the jazz-blues-rap fusion on 'Bridging The Gap'. Nas chats pure lyrical pressure on the amazing 'Nazareth Savage' while 'Thief's Theme' rocks a Queensbridge break (with the essense of 'In A Gadda Da Vida' by Iron Butterfly) supplied by Salaam Remi. Other standout tracks include 'U.B.R' (a living tribute to the legend that is Rakim), 'Virgo' (cunningly named after the astrological sign that Nas, Ludacris and Doug E Fresh share) and the heart-felt 'Me & You' (dedicated to Nas' daughter Destiny).

Just A Moment,Reason,Warなどのかっこいい曲を含む今作。Bridging The Gap、中毒性がありますねぇ。本アルバムはillmaticを感じさせる点もあり、良いできですが、もっと曲数を絞っても良かったかなと感じました。Thief’s Themeが続くのは少し「うるさい」感ありました。disk1とdisk2でのコンセプトの違いも明確になっていたら良かったです。
