If I Ain’t Got YouやYou Don’t Know My Nameなどアリシアの代表曲がつまった作品になっています日本ではこういうシンガーは絶対でてきませんね。でてきたとしても売れないでしょう。アメリカの凄さを感じます。

リリースされて８年は経とうとしていますが、未だに私の全アルバム中ナンバー1です。ソウルフルで繊細な歌声はもちろん、彼女のプロデュース力の凄さをじっくり堪能できる傑作だと思います。彼女の象徴的な曲ともなった「If I Ain’t Got You」は素晴らしすぎる。今後永い間、名曲の一つとして覚えられる曲になり得そうですね。しかも彼女のボーカルでなければ映えないような楽曲がずらり。「You Don’t Know My Name」は、古き良きR＆B節が炸裂なのに斬新。この作品に匹敵するようなアルバムを是非とも今後の彼女に期待したいです。

まさに現代に存在する女神です。彼女の歌唱力・表現力がCDの中に濃縮しきれないのがもったいない。 BRIT AWARDでJAY-ZとコラボしているEMPIRE STATE OF MINDは圧巻のステージでした。
