世界のトップ・ヴァイオリニストでありながら常に新たな可能性に挑戦し続けている鬼才、クレーメル。彼が1996年に故郷バルト3国エストニア、ラトヴィア、リトアニアの若い演奏家たちを集めて結成したのがクレメラータ・バルティカです。ソリストとコンサートマスターはクレーメルが務め、世界各地へのツアーや著名音楽祭への出演など、わずか数年の間に国際的名声を得る室内オーケストラに成長しました。定まった本拠地は持たず,年間5ヶ月間リハーサルとツアーを行っています。
　このアルバムでは、リストのピアノ曲《巡礼の年》をヴァイオリンと弦楽オーケストラに編曲したものをメインに、シシーク、ウスティン、カンチェーリ、バクシ、ペレシス、ドゥナエフスキーといったバルト3国の作曲家の作品を中心に収録しています。
